Heather Hudak
Quality Improvement Specialist
With more than 25 years of experience in the publishing and eLearning industries, Heather Hudak brings a wealth of editing, writing, and instructional design skills and expertise to her role as a senior quality improvement (QI) specialist at PulseLearning.
Heather began her career as a journalist, quickly working her way up to associate editor with a widely distributed weekly newspaper. From there, Heather spent nearly a decade at Canada’s largest independent educational publishing house, rising to the role of managing editor. During this time, she learned the fundamentals of developing curriculum-based materials aligned to learning objectives and business goals.
About 15 years ago, Heather shifted her focus to eLearning, honing her skills as an instructional designer, technical writer, and quality improvement specialist. She’s worked with everything from Fortune 500 companies to small, local businesses in every vertical, including technology, healthcare, oil and gas, retail, finance, telecommunications, and more.
Throughout her career, Heather has led dynamic teams of in-house and contract writers and editors. As a senior member of the PulseLearning QI team, Heather brings a positive perspective and overflowing enthusiasm to every project. She supports and uplifts her peers by continuously improving processes, sharing knowledge, and encouraging collaboration.
In her free time, Heather loves spending time with her menagerie of rescue cats and dogs. She also enjoys traveling and has been to more than 60 countries. Heather continues to work with Canadian and U.S. publishers to develop, write, and edit high-interest and curriculum-aligned books for the kindergarten through grade 12 school and library market. She has written more than 350 titles on everything from barnyard animals to scientific discoveries and historic events.
